Answers To Your Questions
How can I submit a fire code complaint?
The Code Compliance Section of the South Carolina Fire Marshal's Office is primarily responsible for conducting inspections in our businesses and buildings to ensure those buildings are safe and are compliant with the adopted fire code. This team of professionals perform these inspections alongside Slater-Marietta Fire Department and Greenville County Codes Enforcement. To Report an Immediate Concern, Please contact our Headquarters Office. (864-836-3143)
I’d like to volunteer - what do I need to do?
Becoming a volunteer is a serious commitment —
For those looking to be Firefighters and/or EMTs, this includes training that is conveniently scheduled on nights and weekends at locations throughout the Slater-Marietta Fire District. A new recruit without any training can expect to spend 200-300 hours their first year going through the process, initial training, events and more. Check with our firefighters at our Headquarters Station located at 3001 Geer Highway to recieve more information and possibly a application!
I would like to Burn Brush, What Should I Do Next?
State Law requires that you notify the Forestry Commission prior to burning outdoors. In most cases, the law applies to burning leaves, limbs and branches that you clean up from your yard. Greenville County residents are asked to call 1-800-986-5299 before burning.
